For a long time, no one questioned the fact that dark chocolate is certainly beneficial to human health. Just a few scientific studies have shown that chocolate can cope with hypotension (low pressure), fatigue, poor mood, and it’s just useful for the cardiovascular system as a whole. The entire sets of positive qualities give to the chocolate two substances such as serotonin and flavonoids.
However, most recently in the British medical journal Lancet was published an article, which plunged into the horror of all choco-hound in the country. It turns out that chocolate that we eat normally doesn’t contain even a gram of useful substances. Eating chocolate, we get only extra calories, fats and «neutral» carbohydrates.
The research is based on a study of the composition of chocolate, which is sold and produced by the world largest choco companies.
The fact is that flavonoids - the very useful compounds, normalizes mood and heart - give a very bitter taste of cacao. A majority of people prefer milk chocolate to bitter, believing that the difference is small. In fact, this is a profound misconception. Even from the bitter varieties of chocolate manufacturers are forced to withdraw a large number of flavonoids - because if they do not, the chocolate would be too bitter.
It turns out that dark chocolate varieties contain a small amount of good flavanoids for the body, but in milk chocolate there are none them at all. Eating last, we get too much fat and calories.
Indeed, scientists never have called to eat chocolate tiles. A scientifically sound «dose» chocolate: 25 grams a day, that is only a few pieces. Now, it turned out that these 25 grams must necessarily be bitter, like any medicine.
